ERLING JØRGENSEN (1902–1977) was a Danish painter known for his expressionist landscapes and portraits. He was influenced by the modernist movements of his time, particularly expressionism, which is evident in his bold use of color. Joergensen often painted scenes from the Danish countryside, capturing the essence of nature with a dynamic and emotive style. He was a member of the influential artists’ group known as “Corner,” which played a significant role in the development of modern Danish art in the mid-20th century. Jørgensen’s work is celebrated for its emotional intensity and atmospheric beauty. His works can also be found in the Danish National Museum.
