Philippe Geluck (b. 1954) is a multidisciplinary artist, creating everything from comic strips to paintings and monumental bronze sculptures. He is best known for his comic character Le Cat, conceived in 1983. Le Cat developed into a deadpan commentator on the absurdities of daily life. It became a sensation in the Francophone world, making Geluck the bestselling artist in Belgium. Following a successful exhibition at Musée Musée Maillol in Paris in 2025, the LE CHAT cartoon museum opens in Brussels next year, a testament to this character’s enduring appeal.
