The story behind

Wilhelm Freddie was a Danish painter, graphic artist, object artist and professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.

He was the only Danish artist who experienced being reported to the police for having produced “lewd works of art”. He even received a fine for his “pornographic excesses”. Wilhelm Freddie was a surrealist loner, in that he stood out from other surrealist artists in Denmark. However, he largely achieved recognition, awards, honors and medals.
